 Eclectic artist, writer and poet, he was born in Sardinia in 1963.He graduated in Economics and Commerce with honors from L.U.I.S.S. in Rome and spent several years between Milan and Rome for work reasons as manager of various telecommunications and TV companies, including Stream, Sky, Mediaset.
Instinctive, visionary and unconventional, Giampiero Murgia is a true "singer" of the human soul and its infinite emotions. He mainly paints the dream, the memory, the unconscious, recalling marine scenarios, colors and landscapes of his native Sardinia. From a stylistic point of view, various currents converge in his extremely varied painting ranging from Expressionism to Symbolism, to Surrealism, to arrive at the pointillist line and the fairy-tale charm of naive painting. All this is combined with an almost spasmodic search for light, a fundamental element and true protagonist of his works, which delicately envelops the bystander introducing him to a wonderful journey full of symbols, messages, feelings and intimate reflections. A strong romantic and dreamlike component prevails in his works: taking up the thought of W.Shakespeare and that is that "we are made of the same substance as dreams", he argues that reality represents the metaphor of dreams. "Only art can save the soul" is the motto that the artist coined above all for himself and which he tries to bring out also through his works. He made his first work at the age of 15 in Indian ink, graphite and charcoal entitled "Il Porto". At the age of 33 he painted "Notturno Blu" and "Mare d'inverno" in watercolor technique and wrote a book dedicated to the birth of his son Matteo entitled "Letter from a father to his son: poetic fragments and regions of the spirit". He has taken part in various contemporary art group shows in prestigious galleries and historic buildings, in Italy and abroad. In 2019 a personal exhibition of him was presented at the Artifact Gallery in New York (Manhattan). As a writer he published a fiction book entitled "La Personalità del bozzetto" in 2017 and in 2019 the book "Solchi tra le dita".
