STATEMENT
The main medium of my artwork is acrylic paint, but I also incorporate oil paints, traditional Japanese paint. In the context of today's information society, I use the concerns about war, significant environmental issues, disasters, societal divisions, and other information as a foundation for my creations in the midst of daily life. Through subjects I personally favor such as plants, moss, stones, tin cans, chairs, and more, I strive to achieve intricate depictions of unreal landscapes. To accomplish this, I employ an extremely fine brush with a size 0 tip.
In this exhibition, along with hand-painted pieces, I'm also displaying miniatures of larger works exhibited at SOLON D’ AUTOMNE exhibition, as well as lithographs. Additionally, I've designed calendars and keychains featuring my artworks, aiming to bring my creations closer to people's everyday lives for their enjoyment.
PROFILE
1976 Graduated from Oita University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts
1978 Awarded the OG Prize, at the 14th Oita Prefectural Art Exhibition (in the collection of the Oita Prefectural Museum of Art), and since then has received numerous awards at the same exhibition.
1985 Solo Exhibition at Funai Gallery, Oita City
1987 Selected for the 55th Independence Exhibition, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
1991 JAL Prize, 17th Contemporary Children's Art Exhibition; nominated as a member of the association in 1992; awarded the 94th Honorable Mention; awarded the 98th Gakken Prize; nominated as a member of the association; awarded the 00 Honorable Mention; resigned from the association in 2005
