Painter, gallerist, gallery owner
AOE Katsu encountered tall painting and began painting in 2003, and taught herself how to paint. She started as a self-taught artist, but later became a certified instructor in 2006.
After obtaining instructor certification, opened a salon-type class. In 2011 she suspended due to illness. After leaving the hospital, she continued to hold classes by appointment only and started painting again.
In 2012, she started her activities and received an encouragement award for her exhibited works.
The method of creating materials and the painting texture changes each time, but she repeatedly
layers acrylic paints and mediums, scrapes them off, and finally by mixed techniques finishes with oil to express the world of "abstract + figurative + mental.” Although her works are abstract, they are highly acclaimed for the narrative being felt in them.
She opened Gallery Blau Katze in 2017. She says “I want to paint works that will live on even after I die. It is my biggest dream.”
